HECS-HELP (Higher Education Contribution Scheme – Higher Education Loan Program) is a loan scheme to help eligible students to pay their student contribution amounts. TSL (Trade support loans) intend to assist apprentices with day-to-day costs in duration of their apprenticeship.
When your income exceeds the minimum repayment threshold, you must start repaying compulsory study loan, even if you are still studying.
Government has introduced changes relation to HELP and TSL. The first repayment will commence from 1 July 2017 and it will be based on your worldwide income for the 2016-17 Australian income year. Individual must submit an overseas travel notification, if intent to ot already reside overseas for 183 days or more.
